In recent days,
Eric “Rizen” Lynch was promoted to Poker Room Manager of
Lock Poker. The site makes its home on the Merge Gaming Network and gladly takes action from USA players.
Jennifer Larson, CEO of Lock Poker, commented in a press release sent by the room on Monday, "We are determined to lead this industry in product, service, and player experience. Eric brings the insight, passion, and personality that we really need and that this role demands. I cannot think of a better way to take Lock to the next level than with one of the world's best online poker players at the helm!” Lock Poker first made waves by hosting the Bluff Online Poker Challenge in early 2009.
Lock Poker boasts a diverse set of pros that includes Lynch, Brett “gank” Jungblut, Joe “Conno86” Connolly, Stephen Devlin, Lee Childs, Matt “All In At 420” Stout, and World Series of Poker bracelet winner Jason Young. The latter isn’t the only player who has made waves at the WSOP, however. Childs reached the final table of the Main Event in 2007, Stout is a Circuit gold ring winner, and Jungblut captured a bracelet of his own in 2004 in an Omaha High-Low Split Eight or Better tournament.
In the live poker arena, Lynch is perhaps best known for his deep run in the
2006 Main Event, the largest WSOP tournament ever held. The event attracted nearly 9,000 players and Lynch survived to see 24th place for $494,000. He narrowly recorded his second final table of the 2006 WSOP in the process, as he finished third in a $1,500 Pot Limit Hold’em tournament a month earlier for $104,000. In 2007, Lynch took second to Scott Clements in a $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha event, adding another $119,000 to his bankroll.
The same Lock Poker press release summed up Lynch’s new duties: “Eric, with the Lock Pro team by his side, will be driving all decisions around the product, promotions, and player communication. He will personally be welcoming each and every player and looking for insight into what Lock needs to do next.”
According to the traffic ranking site
PokerScout.com, the
Merge Gaming Network weighs in as the 24th busiest worldwide in terms of real money ring game players with a seven-day running average of 810. During peak hours, well over 1,200 cash game players can be logged into the network, which also includes sites like
Carbon Poker,
Players Only,
Poker Nordica, and
RPM Poker.
Lynch is a longtime member of PocketFives.com, where he has captured Triple Crown and Monthly PLB honors. He’s a former UB.com Online Championship (UBOC) event winner and has an outright victory in the PokerStars $1 Million Guaranteed. Lynch is also an instructor at the poker training site PokerXFactor along with pros like Eric “sheets” Haber and Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy.
Lock Poker recently integrated
Sharkscope into its client, becoming the first site in the industry to do so. Players can get access to opponents’ key stats to determine how they play on the felts, which adds an exciting element to online poker. Additionally, Lock Poker members can view their own statistics and easily identify leaks in their own games. You can access the Sharkscope stats through Lock Poker’s Player Dashboard feature.
